Review:
Well...This
is awkward. Not like rough next to altar sex awkward but still,
awkward, awkward, awkward. What am I saying? That scene is
apparently extremely controversial and a big no, no according to
those who don't think Jaime could do such a thing. Haven't they
learned by now that these characters are not meant to good or loved
by anyone? These characters have flaws and I say good on the show for
bringing them out into the open for us to see them.
That's
not to say that I approve but the shows interpretation was always
going to be different. After all, that happened in a Jaime chapter so
we only saw the encounter through his eyes and not Cersei's. This
scene in the show told of the encounter through Cersei's eyes as
well. You see her being conflicted, she wants Jaime but she doesn't
want him there and then in that holy place where they can be seen or
heard.
I
have to say I thought Lena Headey and Nikolaj
Coster-Waldau as Cersei and Jaime acted it brilliantly. Mind you,
they always have.
Anyway,
enough of that. A whole bunch of other things happened:
Stannis
and Davos's bromance continued to flounder.
Tyrion
and Pod broke up.
Oberyn
led a sexy invasion. In a whorehouse.
Tywin
offered Oberyn a shot at the Mountain.
The
Nightswatch stood about and talked of impending threats some more....
Davos
made Shireen right a letter to the bank.
Strong
Belwas was out and Daario was in, in battle that is. .
Daenerys
led a non sexy but incredibly kinky invasion that involved lots of
collars and men pissing all over the place.
Oh
wait...And Sam and Gilly shared a nice moment. Just before he left
her in a ruin of a whorehouse for her own safety,
Its
not only Jon Snow that knows nothing any more.
And
the Wildings invaded a village somewhere that just really, really
loves their potatoes.
Did I say I liked the episode? Well, I did and that's my final word.
