Cersei stood in the corridor outside
trying to compose herself. Robert's words had stung her more then the
many badges of honour he'd given her during their marriage. She
cursed everyone and everything as she suddenly felt tears flow down
her cheeks and ran quickly back to her bedchamber before anyone saw
her.
Only when she was alone in her
bedchamber sitting on her bed did she finally let the tears fall and
silently curse herself as they did so. A noise behind her made her
turn around. Her husband was there with her, his eyes sharing the
same sadness.
“I'm sorry. I wish I could have loved
you back but... You wouldn't understand.” He explains as their eyes
meet.
“I do understand.” Cersei began
turning her face away from his. “I understand because I feel the
same way about the children. They're the only reason I'm still
alive.”
“Not your Father? Or your brothers?”
Robert asked surprised.
“Not even you.” She answered sadly
and began to cry again, no longer caring to shield her tears from
him.
She felt him reach out, touch her and
then take his hand away again.
“Cersei. I'm...” He began but
couldn't finish.
“You should leave Robert. Your whores
will be waiting for you.” She said turning back to him furiously,
the words she spoke bringing back all her hatred for him.
Robert simply nodded, turned away and
left her alone again.
Cersei's sobbing echoed throughout the
bedchamber.
