FAKE WESTEROS INTERVIEWS: ROS

Continuing our #FakeWesteros series of interviews in honour of Game of Thrones Season 6,  we travel to the Night Lands and catch a few moments with the lovely @GameOverRos

How did you get involved with #FakeWesteros?
I was role-playing a historical character when I first saw you, and Sandor [@im_no_ser]. This was at the start of Season 2, and I wasn’t really familiar with ASoIaF or Game of Thrones. But you guys were so funny and clever, I wanted to be a part of that world.

Why did you pick your character?
I saw a hashtag - #GameOfRos. After about two minutes of Googling, I thought she would be a great character to play. She didn’t have as much detail about her as many others, so I could be creative with her. The idea was that I would, eventually, find another character when I was more familiar with Westeros. Yeah, that happened. I fell in love with her.

What do you love the most about being your character on Twitter?
Pretty much all of it. I love live tweeting the episodes. I love interacting with other characters. And I love talking theories with the fans. I get the best of both worlds, as Ros is dead. She’s a character and a fan.

Favourite character and episode?
Jaime Lannister. No question. He is just incredible, isn’t he? I’m also a big fan of Sansa Stark, Theon [‘my sweet kraken’, Ros calls him.]. Oh, and Tywin. I’m a crazy Charles Dance fan girl. Can you tell? Episode? I only get one? ‘Watchers on the Wall.’ I actually screamed when they unleashed the scythe. That episode was stunning.

How has the Twitter community reacted to your character?
At first, it wasn’t so great. Ros was pretty controversial. But everything changed when she died. I like to say that death was the best thing to happen to her. She doesn’t have to take shit from anyone. What are they going to do? Kill her again? And people have really responded to the sass.

Do you have any messages for the people who follow your character? Honestly?
Thank you for following me. I have great followers, and I love that they take the time to interact with me.

How do you feel about the Season Six opening episode? And what do you predict for your favourite character this year?
I really enjoyed it. It was just a rollercoaster from start to finish. Sansa and Theon! They killed my Doran off! And Mel turned into Yoda! It was great. Roll on Episode 2. I don’t know what’s coming, but I know where I’d like them to end up. Jaime the Just. Sansa, Queen in the North. And Theon just being Theon again. No more Reek.

Your legend spreads far and wide, just like your legs. How does it feel to be Westeros’s most well known whore?
I am? It feels fantastic. Suck it, Olyvar. My legend followed me from Winterfell to King’s Landing. I’d write a book, but it’s tricky finding a publisher around here.

You were surprisingly brutally murdered by Joffrey. Thoughts on that?
I hated him for a long time. It wasn’t a quick death. And it hurt. But, after a while, I realised that it wasn’t all his fault. He was just a stupid child. It was Littlefinger. I’m at peace with it now. Of course, it does help that King Robert’s war hammer is always on hand when I get angry. It’s so much fun chasing Joffrey over the Night Lands. I highly recommend it.

Also, hows the afterlife treating you?
Wonderfully! If people knew how much fun it is up here, they’d be lining up to get in. Only problem is, their enemies are waiting for them. Best thing about being a former whore – you get a welcoming party, not a bunch of angry lords with swords.

Plus, how crowded is it there right now?
It’s getting worse. We keep losing people. Ser Gregor was here last year. Then he just disappeared. Now, we can’t find Jon Snow. Stop sending us people! We can’t keep track!

Any unexpected hookups?
Prince Oberyn has slept with nearly everyone here since he first arrived. King Robert and Lord Eddard are happily married, and have adopted Princess Shireen and Lady. King Joffrey is working out his mother issues with Lady Lysa and, yes, it is as creepy as it sounds. And the entire Northern army is, somehow, friends with the Dothraki. It’s a weird place around here, but it sure is fun. If only the Drowned God would stop asking me to rub my feet… Has anyone seen Lady Catelyn recently?

Who do you think will survive or sacrifice themselves somehow?
I don’t know. Winter is coming, as the Starks say. I’m just glad I’m up here, away from whatever winter brings with it. Whoever lives, and whoever dies, we’ll be waiting for them in the Night Lands.
